Black and white felt right for this set. It strips things back to what was really there: presence, intensity, connection and history in the room. This was my first time at a Kabal night, and it was a privilege to document its 25th birthday. For years, I had heard stories about Kabal, how it was the sound to follow back in the day, a legendary force in Sheffield’s underground. To finally witness that energy firsthand and to capture a small part of it felt special. These photographs focus on atmosphere as much as performance: the faces, the exchanges, the pressure around the booth, and the sense of a night built on real musical lineage.
