Al Baha’s mountainous landscape has supported beekeeping for generations. Across steep valleys and terraced hillsides, beekeepers continue a tradition that is deeply connected to the region’s ecology, culture and economy. Photographed in south-west Saudi Arabia, this project explores the relationship between people, landscape and livelihood through the daily lives of those who work with the hive. The work documents a craft that combines inherited knowledge with modern techniques, revealing how beekeeping continues to create opportunities for communities across the region. The project forms part of a wider body of work examining traditional industries and the people helping to sustain them in a rapidly changing Saudi Arabia.
